Mommy, I am Hungry!!!

Well, this probably is the last round of baby birdies this year ... they are so much fun to watch.  But I am betting these little Mommies will be quite happy when the little ones have figured out what exactly what they are suppose to do with the seeds!!  So funny to watch!!!

Motion Blur

Have tried this technique before and really never liked what I got ... but did a little research and found a video at Creative Live and well now I get it.

Still need practice but at least now I have a better concept of how to create Motion Blur.

Day One of our #CLGPhotoChallenge - Second Try

I decided that I would give this Challenge a second try ... just so that I have a little morning time to work on the idea.

Fill the Frame ... still love this idea ... can do so much with it!!

Not sure if this is totally the right concept but I thought it is a good attempt.  This is the Head at the Bow Building, Calgary.

I love doing these little challenges ... so much fun and I enjoy trying to open my mind to something different instead of the same old same old!!

Todays' challenge is Stripes ... Ok, really how hard it is to find some stripes right and yet not have them to be boring.

Stripes of Shade is what I found!!

Day One of our #CLGPhotoChallenge

Found a fun little group and the first challenge of the next 7 days is "Fill the Frame".  Looking forward to doing this and refreshing my memory on some of the simple things that you tend to forgot over time.  But you it all the time without even doing it!!

Fill the Frame:  Get up close & personal and find the details.  Love doing stuff like this!!!

So trying to come up with an idea for this ... sometimes I have a really hard time coming up with an idea.  But I do like what I did come across.

I don't think I have actually photographed a Banana before ... and I think I turned out not bad at all!!!

Just Pouring!!!

A little tiny fishing village of Bottle Cove.  Neat little spot even with all of the rain!!

The mist made for some very interesting and pretty photos.

Haddock ... Interesting ... But Fair Warning is a Bit Gross!!!

Ok, this was a true education in the making ... LoL :)  But I guess it is all part and parcel of fishing.  I missed the part where you actually throw the head back in the water!!!

Found My Little Piece of Heaven!!

Found by Little Piece of Heaven!!  I really found somewhere that I have fallen in love with ... I hope to go back some day soon!!

This is Red Bay Labrador ... I hope you know you have stolen my heart!!

The Church of the Most Holy Trinity ~ Trinity, NFLD

Built in 1833

The church was constructed in 1833 with seating for just seventy-five people.  It is built in the Gothic Revival style of architecture on a piece of land that was donated by George Garland, a fishing merchant from Poole, England  who had his Newfoundland headquarters in Trinity.  The church has a steep gable roof with a stone wall foundation, pointed arch (double hung) windows, a front facade and an enclosed porch.  There have been very few changes to the exterior or interior of the church over the years.

The Most Holy Trinity Church is the oldest wooden church in Newfoundland and Labrador and one of the oldest churches still in use in Canada.  Keeping its original charm, the church is still lit by oil lamps mounted on the columns of the church, and electricity was never installed.  The only source of heat was an oil stove, which was has since been removed.

The church was restored in 2005 after it was designated as a Registered Heritage Structure by the Heritage Foundation of Newfoundland and Labrador.  Upon completion of the restoration a special service of rededication was held on July 27th, 2006 with then Bishop Martin Currie and several former parish priests in attendance.

Wonderful Ending to a Grand Adventure!!

What a wonderful way to end a Grand Adventure!!  A little food, a little wine (well not me!! LoL ), A wonderful song and great new friends.

There was a great little group of musically peoples on this tour! I was invited a couple of times to a little song a long with them.  I can't song but I had fun!!

I hope one day we will meet up again!!

August Photo & Journal Challenge ~ 2016

Photo & Journal Challenge ... Yeah I know ... I am nuts but I thought it would be something different and definitely a challenge to add a little more than just a photo.  It is a challenge to be a little more creative and open minded.

Now as you have probably noticed I didn't do any challenge for the month of July, partly because I did alot of shooting while on holidays and was playing catch up!!  And because I needed a bit of a break as well.

So come on August ... lets get the creative juices going!!!

Gander Aviation Muesum

Atlantic Ferry Pilot Memorial
Air Vice - Marshal
D.C.T Bennett, C.B., C.B.E, D.S.O

Was the Captain of a Lockheed Hudson Bomber which departed Gander 2233 GMT on the night of November the Tenth, 1940 and landed at Aldergrove Ireland. 0945 GMT the next morning.

The aircraft here is identical to the one that made this flight which was the first successful trans Atlantic crossing from Gander.  It is mounted here on this site in commemoration of that event and the many thousands of men and aircraft who have followed since then.
